Delete your Hiccup account

You can delete your Hiccup account and the data we hold about it at any time.

Pre-release. Hiccup has not been released yet. This page describes how the app is designed to handle data and will be checked against the released app before it goes live. If anything changes, for example a new third-party service, this page is updated first.

In the App (fastest)

Open Hiccup and go to Settings.
Tap Delete my account and data, then tap it once more to confirm.

Your profile, invite code and pairings are removed from our server and your sign-in account is deleted. Hiccups you already sent stay on the other person's phone, like a message they received. Your own history on your phone is erased with the account.

Without the App

If you no longer have the App or your phone, email infotech.trishunya+hiccup@gmail.com from the Google account you used to sign in, with the subject "Delete my Hiccup account". We will delete the data we hold about that account and confirm by email.

What is deleted

Your display name, sign-in account and invite code.
Every pairing you are in, and the hiccups kept on our server for those pairings.

Analytics and advertising data held by Google and Meta follows their own retention policies; you can reset your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
