Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Nearby Android app ("the App"), to be published by Trishunya Infotech ("we", "us"), handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. Nearby is a social coordination app for small circles: one-tap asks, standing invites, opt-in presence and lightweight in-app games.

Pre-release draft. Nearby has not been released yet. This page describes how the app is designed to handle data and will be reviewed and finalised before the app is published. If anything changes - for example a new third-party service - this page will be updated first.

1. Accounts & identity

Nearby needs a way to tell circle members apart. The released version may use a simple profile (for example a display name) and an anonymous or account-based identity; the exact method will be stated here before release.

2. Information the App handles

Your display name, the circles you create or join, the asks and invites you send and receive, and - only for channels you opt in to - presence signals (Bluetooth, same-WiFi or approximate location). Presence is mutual: another member can see your proximity only if both of you have opted in. Game state is shared only with the members of the circle taking part.

3. Permissions the App requests, and why

Permission	Purpose
Internet	Sending asks, invites and game moves to your circle.
Bluetooth / nearby devices	Optional Bluetooth presence and fallback connectivity.
Wi-Fi state	Optional same-WiFi presence and fallback connectivity.
Location (foreground)	Optional GPS presence, and required by Android for Bluetooth scanning on some versions.
Notifications	Delivering asks and invites to you.

The App does not request access to your contacts, SMS or call log. Permissions that are not essential are requested only when you use the feature that needs them, and the App continues to work if you decline them.

4. Third-party services

Nearby will rely on a backend service to deliver asks and presence between members. The provider and what it receives will be named here before release. Any ad or analytics service will be listed here too.

5. Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device can be deleted at any time from within the App, or removed entirely by uninstalling it. Files you have exported or shared with other apps are outside the App's control once they leave it.

6. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

7. Security

We aim to keep your data on your device and to use encrypted connections for any data that is sent over a network. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including at release and whenever features or third-party services are added. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
