Data Safety

Last updated: 4 October 2026 · Companion to our Privacy Policy

This page summarises, in plain language, what the Here & Home app collects and shares - mirroring the categories used in Google Play's Data Safety section, so it's easy to cross-check.

Note for whoever fills in the Play Console Data Safety form: this page reflects the App as designed - no account required for core use, expenses local by default, optional anonymous Firebase sync for Group Trips, AdMob for ads, and anonymous usage statistics and install measurement (Google Analytics for Firebase and the Meta SDK) that are off until allowed. If any new SDK is added in a future version, update this page and the corresponding Play Console declaration before that update goes live.

Data not collected

Name, email address, phone number, physical address, government ID, health/fitness data, photos, contacts, SMS, and call logs are not collected by the App. Expenses marked "Just me" are never uploaded anywhere, even if you're part of a Group Trip.

Your choices

Usage statistics and install measurement are optional. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland they stay off until you allow them; everywhere you can switch them off in Settings > About. Ads consent is handled by Google's consent form where the law requires it.

Data processed only on-device

All expense data, wallet history, budgets, trip settings, and preferences are stored locally on your phone by default. This data is never transmitted to us or to Firebase unless you explicitly join a Group Trip and mark an individual expense "Shared".
