Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Here & Home Android app ("the App"), published by Trishunya Infotech ("we", "us"), collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is an offline-first travel expense tracker and currency widget, built to need as little of your data as possible.

In short: Here & Home does not require an account to use its core features, stores your expenses and trip data locally on your device, and only touches the network for exchange rates, weather, maps, and - if you choose to join a Group Trip - anonymous, temporary sync through Google Firebase.

1. Accounts & identity

The App does not require a standard account - no email, no password, no sign-up. If you opt in to a Group Trip, the App creates a Firebase Anonymous Authentication identity behind the scenes, solely to let your device sync with the other members of that trip. This identity is not linked to your name, email, or phone number.

2. Expense & trip data

All personal expense data (amounts, categories, notes, wallet balances) is stored locally on your device using standard app storage (DataStore/JSON). It never leaves your device unless you join a Group Trip and explicitly mark an expense as "Shared". Expenses left marked "Just me" are never uploaded, even inside a shared trip.

3. Location data (GPS)

The App requests coarse location access, used only while the App is open in the foreground - it never runs in the background. Location is used to attach coordinates to a logged expense, center the in-app map, auto-switch your local currency and weather, and share your position with the other members of a Group Trip while a Fall-in (group rally) signal is active. If you deny location access, expenses simply save without coordinates and the rest of the App continues to work.

4. Third-party services we communicate with

ServicePurposeData involved

Google AdMobBanner and rewarded-video ads. The first 15 days after install are ad-free, and watching a rewarded ad grants 30 minutes ad-free.Advertising ID, device and ad-interaction data, per Google's own policies
Google User Messaging PlatformAsks for your consent to ads where the law requires it (EEA, UK, Switzerland)Your consent choice
Google Analytics for FirebaseAnonymous usage statistics (which features are used, app crashes and performance)App-usage events, device model and OS version, Advertising ID. Never your expenses, trips, places or anything you type.
Meta (Facebook) SDKMeasuring app installs that come from Meta advertising (the SDK reports that the app was opened for the first time)Advertising ID, device and app information, Google Play install referrer. No account, expense or location data.

5. Usage statistics, install measurement and your choices

Google Analytics for Firebase and the Meta SDK are switched off until the App decides they may run. In the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (and whenever the App cannot tell where you are) nothing is collected until you tap Allow in the first-run question; Don't allow is equally easy and the App works the same either way. Elsewhere measurement is on by default.

In every country you can switch anonymous usage statistics on or off at any time in Settings > About. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form for ads can be reopened from the same place ("Ad privacy choices"). You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID in your Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).

6. Permissions the App requests, and why

PermissionPurpose
InternetExchange rates, weather, map tiles, Group Trip sync, and ads.
Advertising IDUsed by Google AdMob, Google Analytics and the Meta SDK for ads, ad measurement and install attribution, only while measurement is allowed. You can reset or delete it in Android settings.
VibrationA short tick when you press a key on the home-screen widget.
Coarse location (foreground only)Tagging expenses, centering the map, currency/weather auto-switching, and Fall-in signals. Never runs in the background.

The App does not request access to your contacts, SMS, call log, microphone, or storage beyond its own app data. Photos you attach to an expense are taken with your phone's camera app or chosen from your gallery, stay on your device, and appear only in PDF statements you choose to export.

7. Data retention and deletion

Local data (trips, expenses, wallet, settings) can be deleted at any time from within the App, or removed entirely by uninstalling it. Anonymous Firebase identities created for Group Trips are subject to an automatic clean-up after 30 days of inactivity, after which Google's servers delete the identity and any data tied to it. Anonymous usage statistics are retained by Google and Meta under their own standard retention settings; you can stop further collection at any time in Settings > About.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

9. Security

Data shared to Group Trips travels over encrypted connections to Google Firebase. We do not operate our own backend server that stores your personal expense data, which limits our exposure to a data breach affecting you directly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when new features or third-party services are added. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
