Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Steel Table USA Android application ("the App"), provided by Trishunya Infotech ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What the App does

Steel Table USA is a reference tool presenting dimensions and sectional properties for American hot-rolled steel sections, transcribed from publicly available data based on the AISC Steel Construction Manual ("AISC Shapes Database", American Institute of Steel Construction), for quick lookup by engineers, students, and other professionals.

2. Licence to use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App for your personal or professional reference use, subject to these Terms.

3. Reference use only - not a substitute for the official manual

The App is provided as a convenient reference and lookup tool. While we take care in transcribing values from the AISC shapes data, transcription and data-entry errors are possible, and we take no responsibility for the accuracy of any data presented in the App.

You must independently verify any dimension, weight, or sectional property against the current official AISC Steel Construction Manual (or a subsequent revision) before using it in any structural design, calculation, drawing, tender, fabrication, or construction decision. The App is not a certified or official publication of the American Institute of Steel Construction, and is not a substitute for professional structural engineering judgement, peer review, or applicable design codes.

All data compiled in the App is drawn from publicly available information. The AISC Steel Construction Manual and its shapes database are published by, and remain the intellectual property of, the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and other relevant issuing authorities. Trishunya Infotech does not own, author, or claim any official authority over this standard or its contents - the App merely compiles publicly available figures for convenient reference.

4. Disclaimer of warranties

The App and its data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App is free of errors or that its data exactly matches every printed edition of the AISC Steel Construction Manual.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trishunya Infotech shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages - including but not limited to design errors, construction defects, financial loss, or personal injury - arising from reliance on data presented in the App. Use of any value from the App in real engineering work is entirely at your own risk and subject to your own professional verification.

6. Intellectual property

The App's software, design, and compilation of data are owned by Trishunya Infotech and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The underlying dimensional data originates from the AISC shapes database published by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and is publicly available information - Trishunya Infotech makes no claim of ownership or authorship over the standard itself, only over the App's own compilation and presentation of it. These Terms do not grant you rights to redistribute or republish the App's compiled dataset outside of normal personal use of the App.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or bulk-extract the App's dataset for redistribution, or use the App in any way that is unlawful or infringes the rights of any third party.

8. Changes to the App or these Terms

We may update the App or these Terms at any time, including to correct data or reflect a newer revision of the AISC Steel Construction Manual. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at our discretion.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
