How to use it

Three steps. Well, two.

Open & Share

Open any file in WhatsApp or any other app and tap Share. If it lets you select several files, pick them all first.

Tap SaveLocal

In the share sheet, tap the SaveLocal icon. A card says Saved to Downloads and you're returned to your chat.

Step three

Doing a batch? The card counts every file as it goes, and the last message tells you how many were saved.

Office documents, spreadsheets and ZIPs too. Large files are streamed to storage, so a big video doesn't strain your phone's memory.

Never overwrites

Saved the same file twice? The second copy gets a number in brackets. Nothing is ever replaced.

Spaces, accents, emoji and other languages survive. Only characters a file system can't store are swapped out.

It copies. It never uploads.

Your files, file names and save history stay on your phone. SaveLocal is not a file manager: it saves what you share to it, and that's all.

SaveLocal counts anonymous usage, like how many files were saved, but never names or contents, and uses Meta's SDK to measure app installs where permitted. Full detail in the Privacy Policy and Data Safety page.
