Here & Home is a free Android 12+ app by Trishunya Infotech. Job one: tell you what it costs, in about three seconds. Job two: remember what you spent, alone or with a group. No hidden numbers: rates show their age and source, and real costs stay separate from market rates. There is no account, and your expenses stay on your phone.
Why it was built
You land somewhere new, and every price is a number in a currency you cannot feel. Is it cheap? By day four you have no idea what you have spent. If something goes wrong, you may not speak the language. Here & Home was built for those three moments.
The two jobs
- Tell you what it costs, in about three seconds. A home screen widget opens a keypad. See how it works.
- Remember what you spent, alone or with your group. Save in one tap, track cash, see where it went, and settle up. See splitting trip expenses.
No hidden numbers
- Every exchange rate shows where it came from and how old it is.
- Rates are indicative, not a bank quote, and the app says so.
- The market rate and what you will actually pay are never blended.
- No account to create. Your trip is yours: your expenses stay on your phone, unless you share a trip, and then only the entries you mark as shared.
- Location is optional, and an approximate one is enough.
- Anonymous usage statistics can be switched off in Settings.
Everything else
The rest is for the days you are not spending: a clock that opens into the converter, two time zones and the weather, a trip map, PDF and spreadsheet exports, and an offline guide with emergency numbers, phrases, a survival kit and a country overview. See the app tour.
How it stays free
It is free to download and supported by ads. There are no ads for the first 15 days after install, and a rewarded video buys 30 ad-free minutes. Here & Home needs Android 12 or newer.
Where it stops
- It is a field companion, not a financial or emergency service.
- Exchange rates are indicative, updated periodically, and not financial quotes. The app is not a trading platform.
- The Help and FYI guide and emergency numbers are provided on a best-effort basis for offline reference. Do not rely on the app alone in a life-threatening emergency.
- Map data is built on OpenStreetMap and offline coverage is an approximation.
- Fall-in is a rally signal for your group, not an emergency service.
